The Shapes club is an exciting way to look at the shapes students will have been introduced to in school and literally build on them to create new mind-bending shapes. Week 1: Fractal Fun What happens if you repeat a pattern over and over again? Find out in this class as we build a huge spaghetti pyramid. Week 2: Flexagon Frenzy How does paper have so many sides and how am I making all these shapes? Make your own shapes and toy through the art of folding. Week 3: Twisted Topology When are things tangled and when are they knotted? We explore these ideas and us them to create slime! Week 4: Through the Looking Glass Gaze through the looking glass and see what appears. Build and experiment with your own plutonic solids. Week 5: Taurus Tornados On your marks, get set, go! What does it mean to go fast? We see how fast we’re going by timing pupils running a fixed distance and working out the average velocity. Week 6: Mobius Marvels Can you escape from these twists and turns? We use escapology to investigate the properties of weird and wonderful shapes.
